Philosophy

My name is Asia Meno and I am currently a third year student at the University of Guam, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. I have an interest in health science and music. I expect to graduate by Spring 2022.

Why Do I Want to be a Teacher?

A teacher is defined as someone who gives you not only the knowledge but also inspiration to thrive and to succeed. I believe that teaching is one of the most essentials professions life has to offer. It is necessary for success and also provides a continuous cycle of a learning future. The children of today, are our future and they need to be prepared for what is to come. With that being said, for many reasons I want to be a teacher but I think that the feeling of great reward comes from encouraging growth and bringing happiness to others.

As a teacher, you help shape a student's self-esteem and help inspire their career aspirations and attitude towards school. They know about each student's ability and never underestimates the student. No matter the struggles along the way, the teacher believes that every child has their own potential to prove. Teachers are truly one of the most selfless, giving and caring individuals in our world.

I believe that I have much to offer in the teaching field and teaching has much to offer me. By teaching, I will provide my best dedication, creativeness, and knowledge to children and to their parents. In return, teaching will be able to give me a place to grow intellectually and a group of people whose growth will provide me with a great sense of reward.
