Mentor students in safe, legal and ethical practices with digital tools and the protection of intellectual rights and property.
This artifact reflects substandard 3c because it shows my understanding of how as an individual it is important to be intellectually safe in and out of the online world. For this artifact, my group and I had to give the class a presentation about a digital safety issue. Our topic "Fair User Practices and Copyright Issues" is a significant topic in the educational field where we have to be careful of what we "copy" online. This group project has reminded me that we always need to give credit to the original author to promote their work and to protect their rights.
In addition, this blog also reflects substandard 3c because it goes hand in hand with the importance of being a safe online technology user. This blog helped me to further understand what it means to properly be educated in this 21st century generation. With technology advancing, there are new dangers emerging and we need to be more aware of the possibilities of what could potentially happen when being online.
